In 2021, with the help of Congressman James E. Clyburn, South Carolina created 7,200 manufacturing jobs. As Co-Chair of the House Democratic Manufacturing Working Group, Congressman Clyburn is a leading advocate for America’s manufacturing sector.
Since President Biden took office, the U.S. has created 375,000 manufacturing jobs and a total of 6.6 million jobs nationwide.
“These job numbers coupled with all-time low unemployment are clear indicators that the Biden-Harris Administration’s economic plan is working,” said Congressman Clyburn. “After just one year in office, our economy has seen tremendous growth. Enacting key provisions of the House-passed America COMPETES Act into law will ensure even more South Carolinians have access to high-quality, good-paying jobs.”
